Parents Dream.

I interviewed my dad who is now 43 years old and my mom who is also 43 their dream was basically obvious which was to have a better life. Their American Dream was to be legal here in the U.S. and to also bring their family here for them to also have a better life, for example to bring my grandparents, my uncles and my aunts. Back then it was easier to get from México to the United States.

Dad's dream:

Well I got here when I was 18 years old and my uncle, your grandmas brother paid a smuggler or most likely known as a "coyote" in Spanish, for him to bring me here. Life in Mexico was so hard especially for me that your grandpa left us with your grandma when I was about 2 years old. So, in Mexico we didn't have a lot of money and as I grew up I knew I didn't want to be like this all of my life, this is how my American dream came to me. My American dream was for me to become a citizen and also for my family to come to this country and for them to become legal. I also wanted a better life for me and for you, to go to college and for you and your brothers to not suffer the way I did. Now I'm here working hard and making sure you guys have everything you guys need in this life.

Mom's dream:

I got here in the U.S. I was 15 years old and it was pretty hard to get here. We all suffered whether it was physically or emotionally, for example if we got through the desert or just because we were nervous. Well we owned a store in Mexico, so I had food and everything that I needed. Your grandfather decided to leave to the U.S. and get a job. As soon as he had enough money, he sent money for us to come here. As soon as I got here i worked and I met your father which we already knew each other because in Mexico we lived in the same place. We decided to make a life and for you guys to have a better life. Now my dream was for me to have a better life and to live a happy life. I wouldn't ask for much just for you guys to live good and for you guys to be someone in life, something other people don't have because they're immigrants even though they're capable and are talented people. Therefore this is my American dream because we just came here to work and that's what we're doing other that we didn't have the chances of going to school because I had to work.

Well I like the fact that your dad did the impossible to come here to U.S.A when his dad left his mom. I like how he wants to become a citizen, that is a dream that CAN come true.

Wow, your parents really do care for you. I know some people that they don't give a dime about their kids.

The power of suffering. Can be good and bad for us, in this case of your parents it was a good one, it created their American Dreams. Everything we endure and see happen for a reason even though we may think otherwise. Almost every parent had an American Dream of making a better life for us, the future generation of the world. Well Ivan most of the dreams will come true just like in the case of your parents' and my parents'. Yet other still have to put in something to make it come true, so we have to finish school and make ourselves a future our parents dreamed for us. LES AROX DES AVERI!
